  1. Course Closed For The Season; Pro Shop & Driving Range Open Limited Hours

    Well, crud!

I wasn’t expecting to be writing this for another month. It never ceases to amaze me how it can go from 75* a little more than two weeks ago to having snow on the ground this morning.

After looking at the 10 day forecast and seeing a mix of cold weather, rain and more snow, and only one day where it’s going to be 50 degrees, we have sadly decided to close the course for the season. 🙁

We will keep the clubhouse and driving range open for a couple of weeks. Our hours will be from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. until daylight savings time is done. We will revise our hours at that time.

  2. Fall is a Great Time For Golf and Equipment Deals at Hidden Meadows

Looks like the extended weather forecast is good for the next few weeks, with a lot of days in the mid-50’s. So come on out for some great fall golf at Hidden Meadows. We will be open until the snow flies or the frost gets so heavy that the greens don’t clear.

We also have lots of great deals in the pro shop on demo irons, drivers, fairway woods, hybrids and wedges.

Think golf. Think Hidden Meadows Golf Course.

Wes Kauppila and Chris Kauppila defended their title today, firing a 12-under-par 59 in the 6th Annual Big Cup Scramble at Hidden Meadows Golf Course.

The Kauppila’s winning score was five shots clear of Clay Holliday and Warren Walker, who toured the course in 64 strokes. Dillon Leland and Jody Lyford tied with the team of Ron Morin and David Nadeau for third place with 69. Ray Hussey and Stacey Hussey took fifth place honors with 70.

Landon Lapointe had the best tee shot on the par 3’s, landing one 11’2″ on #17. In addition to capturing the closest-to-the-pin prize for that hole, he won two rounds of golf at Samoset Resort. (more…)

  8. Season-ending 5-Person Yellow Ball Scramble is October 13th

Make sure to get signed up for our last tournament of the year, the 5-Person Yellow Ball Scramble. It will be held on Saturday, October 13th, with an 11 a.m. shotgun start. The cost is $10 per player for members, $20 per player for non-members.

In this format, four players on the team play a scramble, one player on the team plays the yellow ball. You combine the scramble score with the yellow ball score on each hole for the team score. For instance, if the scramble makes a four on the hole and the yellow ball score is a five on the hole, the team score for that hole is a 9.

Teams establish a rotation that they will maintain throughout the round. For example, on hole #1 if Players A, B, C & D are the scramble team and Player E is playing the yellow ball, then on hole #2, Players B, C, D & E are the scramble team and Player A is playing the yellow ball. The rotation remains the same throughout play, so teams will want to do a little ‘strategizing’ before their round starts.

Every player will be provided with one yellow ball, and a yellow ball must be used by the designated individual on each hole.

The format is a lot of fun, and it’s a great way to wrap up the season. The field size will be limited to 12 teams, so don’t wait too long to sign up. Carts will be $12 per person, and there will be a limit of three carts per group. We’ve got plenty of carts, so no need to reserve them ahead of time. Call the pro shop at 207-827-4779 to reserve your spot!
