1. Carts okay this morning

   We are good to go this morning. Carts are on the course. Senior league starts at 8:30 this morning.

2. Monday Night Scramble Canceled

   The Monday Night Scramble has been canceled for tonight because of the weather. We will make a decision about the Tuesday Senior League tomorrow morning at 7 a.m.

   No carts on the course for the rest of the day today. Sorry everyone.

3. Play Free Golf For The Remainder of 2019

   Anyone interested in playing some free golf for the rest of 2019? 

   Join Hidden Meadows Golf Course for the 2020 season and play the rest of this year for free. We will be open until October 31st, so that gets you two free months of golf. 

   The course is in good shape, and the greens are great. We’ve got lots of activities for everyone so come check us out. For more details call the pro shop at 207-827-4779.

4. Square & Compass Scramble Saturday, August 10th

   The 8th Annual Square & Compass Club Scramble is on Saturday, August 10th at Hidden Meadows Golf Course.

   The entry fee is $240 per team ($60 per person), and includes green fees, golf cart, meal, on-course events, prizes and more.

   There are cash prizes for first and second place. All players will have a chance at winning a brand new car sponsored by Darlings Ford in Bangor.

   Can’t play but want to support the tournament? A $50 sponsorship gets you a personalized sign located on a tee or green. A $150 sponsorship gets you two individual entries into the tournament plus the tee/green sponsor sign.

   The money raised from this tournament goes to the Star in the East Square & Compass Club Scholarship for an Old Town High School graduating senior.

5. Kauppila, Atherton, Severance and Fernandez Are 2019 Club Champions

   Congratulations to Chris Kauppila, Michelle Atherton, Joe Severance and Bill Fernandez for winning their respective divisions over the weekend in the Hidden Meadows Club Championship.

   
   Kauppila fired a final round 69, and won for the third straight year, overcoming an 8-stroke first round deficit. He was tied with first round leader Joe Perdue going into the last hole. After nearly driving the 18th green, he pitched up to three feet and converted his birdie for the two-shot win, after Perdue’s bunker shot skipped past the hole.

   
   Atherton, entering the final round 6 strokes back of first round leader Stephanie Buxton, toured the front nine in 44 and never looked back, finishing with 89 and winning by 11 strokes.

   
   Joe Severance and Bill Fernandez tied for medalist honors in the senior division. Fernandez held a four stroke lead after the first round, but Severance caught him on the very last hole of the tournament, making a par on number 18.

6. Join For The Rest of The Year And Save Some $$$

   Now that the weather seems to be a little bit more ‘golf friendly,’ here’s a chance to renew your membership for the rest of this year.

   
   Beginning today, we are offering the following rates for unlimited play through the end of this season:

   
   Adult – single: $275; Adult – couple: $385; Family: $445 (includes 18-years old & younger, everyone living under the same roof); Senior – single (age 62-older): $215; Senior – couple (age 62-older): $300; College student (12 credits or more): $130; Junior (age 18-younger): $100.

   These rates are good for seven days a week. There are no restrictions on weekends or holidays. These rates are extended to both previous and new members.

   We will also be running a special beginning September 1st, where you can purchase your 2020 membership and play the rest of this year for free. This offer will only be available to people that have not been a member since 2015 or before. If you were a member in 2016, 2017 or 2018, you will not be eligible for the September promotion.

7. Come Join Our Women’s 9-Hole League on Thursday Mornings

   Looking for something to do on Thursday mornings? Come check out our Thursday Morning Women’s 9-Hole Golf League.

   
   Check-in time is 8:45 and play begins at 9 a.m. There is a different game every week, along with a Beat Up On Joe Day (better known as ‘Beat The Pro Day’) every so often.

   
   Handicaps are based on the scores you shoot on Thursday mornings, and are updated regularly. The weekly cost is $5 per person. Green fees are $10 for non-members. We run a $5 per person league cart special.

   
   So no matter if you shoot 40 or 80 for 9-holes, come on out and join the group. It’s a lot of fun (with the emphasis on FUN), and there is no week-to-week commitment. If you have something come up and can’t make it one week, no problem. Come on out when you can!

8. Hidden Meadows Club Championship this Saturday and Sunday, July 27th & 28th

   The 2019 Hidden Meadows Club Championship is this coming Saturday and Sunday, July 27th and 28th. This is open to all Hidden Meadows Golf Course members. The cost is $10.

   Play begins at 9 a.m. both days. You can put together your own groups for the first round, or we can put you with a group. Pairings will be by the first round scores for the second round. Champions for the Open, Senior and Women’s divisions will be based on gross scores. We will also have net prizes as well.

   Chris Kauppila is the defending Open Division champion. Bill Fernandez and Kristie St. Peter won the 2018 Senior and Women’s divisions.

9. Rec Center Tournament Canceled for This Saturday

   The annual Old Town Rec Center Tournament that was scheduled for Saturday, July 20th has been canceled. We will have open play all day.
