  6. Course To Open On Saturday

Okay, the good news folks….the golf course will be open for the season beginning Saturday morning at 9 a.m.

For the first week it will be walking only (pull carts are fine). We should have power carts on the course the middle-to-end of next week.

In the meantime, the pro shop and driving range will be open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. today, Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Hours will change to 7 a.m. to dark beginning on Sunday.

You still have time to get a discount on your annual membership fees if you pay before 9 a.m. on Saturday.

  7. Course Condition Update – April 12

You know that torrential downpour that we were hoping to avoid? Ugggghhhh! It’s going to be at least another day before we can get the course open.

But on the bright side, we have a lot of warm weather heading our way!

The pro shop and clubhouse will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. every day until the course opens. Once the course opens, we’ll be open from 7 a.m. to dusk.

  8. Golf Course Condition Update

    Golf Course update:

We walked the course Saturday evening and again this morning. The greens are firming up, as is most of the course. We are keeping an eye on the rain that we’re supposed to get this afternoon, evening and going into tomorrow morning. As long as it’s not a torrential downpour like we had towards the end of last week, we will be open on Wednesday afternoon.

We will post another update tomorrow mid-day.

In the meantime, the pro shop and driving range are open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. If you have not paid for your 2016 membership yet, remember, as long as you pay before the course opens, you can get a $25 discount.

  9. My Golf In The Kingdom: A Tribute To Manuel de la Torre

    By Joe Perdue
    PGA Professional / Owner
    Hidden Meadows Golf Course

While I was watching the food show “Chopped” and scrolling through Facebook last night, I came across a post from PGA Tour Professional Ted Purdy which immediately brought tears to my eyes. Manuel de la Torre, whom I consider the best golf instructor on the planet, and one of the finest gentlemen that I have ever had the privilege to meet, is entering hospice care today, and his time is very short.

I spent the rest of the evening reflecting on how I had met Manuel, which seems like it was forever ago, while at the same time it’s as fresh in my mind as if it were yesterday.

    Where does time go?
