  1. Ron Blair Aces #4

    Ron Blair, from Old Town, made his first-ever hole-in-one on #4. Blair, who is 81-years-old, used a driver on the 151-yard par 3. He was playing with Dana Lacadie and Tom Rayk. He is on the course right now trying to become the first person ever to make back-to-back aces on #4. Nice shot Ron. Way to go!

  2. Lots of Upcoming Events at Hidden Meadows

    Summer is in full swing and we have several tournaments coming up over the next couple of weeks.

    On Saturday, July 25th, is the Charity Tournament for Kids Education in Africa. It is a 4-person scramble, and the cost is $200 per team ($50 per player). This includes the tournament entry fee, carts, lunch, pay spots for the top three teams, flag events and lots of special events throughout the day. Starting time is at 8 a.m. Zachary Hussey is running the event, and he can be contacted at zachary.hussey@umit.maine.edu.

    On Sunday, July 26th, is the 2nd Annual Garford Golf Scramble. It is a 4-person scramble, and the entry fee is $140 per team ($35 per player) if you register before Sunday, or $180 per team ($40 per player) if you register the day of the tournament. The entry fee includes the golf, prizes, flag events and food. Golf carts are an additional $24 per cart ($12 per person). The proceeds from the tournament will go towards the restoration and housing of the Garford Fire Truck, and to bring it back to Old Town.     On Sunday, August 9th, is the 1st Annual Red Riot Baseball Golf Scramble. It begins at 8 a.m. and is a 4-person scramble. The cost is $50 per person ($200 per team), and includes 18 holes of golf, cart, lunch, prizes and more. Proceeds from the tournament will be used to purchase a hitting cage for the Orono High School baseball field. To enter, log on to www.oronobaseball.com.     On Friday, August 21st, is the 1st Annual Old Town Recreation Center Charity Golf Classic. It begins at 9 a.m. and the cost is $250 per team. The entry fee includes golf, cart, mulligans, prizes, flag events, special events, food and more. Proceeds from the tournament will help to support year-round youth programming offered at the Old Town Rec Center. For more information, please contact Kevin McPhee at 207.827.3961.

    Folks, these are four excellent events and all help to raise money in our community that benefits everyone. And what better way to spend a morning than to play some golf and have some fun.   3. Charity Tournament for Kids Education in Africa this Saturday

    The 2nd Annual Charity Tournament for Kids Education in Malawi is scheduled for this coming Saturday, July 25th. It is a 4-person scramble and the cost is $200 per team ($50 per player). This includes your golf, cart, lunch, closest-to-the-pin and long drive prizes, and prizes for the top three teams. There is currently room for only three more teams. Zach does a great job with this tournament, it’s a lot of fun to play in, and it’s a great charity.

  5. Demo Set of Ping G10 Irons Available

    We have a nearly new set of Ping G10 irons in stock. It’s an 8-piece set, 4-PW & SW, steel shafts, regular flex. They have the black dot, which is a standard lie angle, and they are standard length. Most of the clubs have only been hit a couple of times. The grips say “Demo” on the end cap.   6. Women’s Scramble Is On Friday, July 17th

    The Hidden Meadows 2-Person Women’s Scramble starts at 9 a.m. on Friday, July 17th. We have room for three more teams. If you would like to play, please call the pro shop at 827.4779.

    The course will be open for regular play during the tournament.

  7. Old Town-Orono Hockey Booster Fundraiser This Saturday

    The Old Town/Orono High School Hockey Booster scramble is this coming Saturday, July 18th, at Hidden Meadows Golf Course. The entry fee is $200 per 4-person team, which includes the tournament entry fee, carts, tee prizes, food and more. All proceeds will go to benefit the combined Old Town-Orono Ice Hockey Team. Starting time is 8 a.m.

    There are only two or three open spots remaining. Please call the pro shop at 827.4779 to register.

  8. Sunday’s Mixie Canceled

    The mixie for Sunday, July 12 has been canceled. Due to a general lack of interest, the remaining scheduled mixie’s for the season have also been canceled. We’ll come up with some different events to fill those spots. More on that in the next couple of days.

  9. Just Call Me ‘Ace’ Neely

    Chuck Neely from Old Town just knocked one in on hole #8. He used a 7-iron for his first-ever ace on the 165-yard hole. He was playing with daughter Olivia and son Cooper. Way to go Chuck! And don’t forget, you’re buying the drinks!

  10. Women’s 2-Person Scramble is Friday, July 17th

    The Hidden Meadows 2-person Women’s Scramble is Friday, July 17th. The cost is $50 per team ($25 per person) and includes green fees, lunch, prizes, flag events and special events. Deadline for sign-ups is Wednesday, July 15th. Please call the pro shop at 207.827.4779 for more information.
