The Hidden Meadows Senior Scramble is scheduled for Wednesday, June 10th. The format is a 2-person scramble, with no minimums on tee shots. There are three divisions: Age 50-59, Age 60-69 and Age 70-older. Teams will be placed in divisions based on the age of the youngest player on the team. Players age 59-younger play from the white tees, players age 60-older play from the gold tees. The entry fee is $50 per team, which includes the tournament entry, green fees, lunch, prizes and flag events. To enter, please call the Pro Shop at 207.827.4779. Entry deadline is Monday, June 8th.
We have our first mixie of the year on Sunday, June 7th. Starting time is 1 p.m. with a potluck after the golf. The format is Pinehurst Scramble. Player A and Player B both hit a tee shot. Player A hits Player B’s drive and Player B hits Player A’s drive. Then pick which ball you want to use and play a scramble until the ball is holed. The Pro Shop will be grilling hamburgers and hot dogs, and will provide iced tea. Players are providing either a side dish, salad or dessert. Please call the Pro Shop at 827.4779 to sign up.
I was just contacted by a couple in Florida who is looking for a rental in Maine from July-October. Quiet, retired couple. Non-smokers, no pets. Loves golf and nature. Please contact the pro shop if you have a place for rent, or know of a place for rent. Something in the vicinity of a golf course would be preferable.
The Monday Night Scramble is on for Memorial Day. Starting time is 5:30, so be at the course by 5:15 if you are planning to play. Cost is $5 for members, $15 for non-members. And don’t forget, carts are only $5 per person!
We are now taking sign-ups for all of our summer Junior Golf programs. We have PeeWee Golf lessons for ages 5-8 years old on Wednesday mornings. We have Junior Golf lessons for ages 8-18 years old on Thursday mornings. We have a Junior Golf League on Saturday afternoon’s. And we have our Junior Golf Academy, which will be the last week of July.
Space is limited for all four programs. You can call the pro shop at 827.4779 to sign up. For detailed information for each program, click on the Junior Golf menu on our website.

Saturday was the start of our Junior Putt Club classes with the Old Town Rec Center. Ben McPhee added a little extra challenge to his shots on the driving range, then came in the pro shop to demonstrate his steady hands. Ben, you made my day!
Wayne Garthwait, one of our long-time members at Hidden Meadows GC, and part of our morning ‘dew sweepers’ group, told me this morning that he and his wife are moving to Utah. On Monday. This Monday. As in day-after-tomorrow Monday. Wow!
Wayne, I’ve enjoyed our conversations, our time spent on the practice tee, and all of our practical jokes (think Tony Soprano). Thank you for being a member of our course. We are going to miss seeing you here every day. Best wishes to you and your wife on your new adventures. Good luck Wayne!
