The annual Old Town Junior Open is this Friday, July 18th. Tee times begin at 9 a.m. This is open to all boys and girls, ages 8-17 years old. The 8-11 year old division will play 9-holes, the 12-14 and 15-17 year old divisions will play 18-holes. There will be trophies and prizes for each division. The entry fee is $20, and includes green fees and lunch. Call the pro shop to sign up at 827.4779.
There are two spots left for the the annual Old Town/Orono High School Hockey Boosters Scramble, which is this Saturday, July 19th. Registration begins at 7:15 a.m., and the tournament starts at 8 a.m. The cost is $50 per player or $200 per team. Range balls are included. There will be complimentary coffee and donuts provided by Tim Horton’s, and lunch will be provided by Acme Pizza. All proceeds will go to benefit the combined Old Town & Orono Ice Hockey team.
Congratulations to Ed Lucas, Darvin Malliot, Stacey Hussey and Ray Hussey for winning the Monday night scramble this week, with a 3-under-par 32. Alan Hussey, Maggie Hussey, Jeannette Bernard and Randy Bernard came in second place. Alan Hussey was closest to the pin on #4 with a shot to 9’3.5″. Alan also had the best shot on #8, knocking it to within 34 inches of the hole.
The Monday night scramble is open to anyone that wants to play. The draw is at 5:30, with play beginning right after the draw. It’s $5 for members, $15 for non-members (includes green fees), and carts are only $5.

Wow, 3.4 inches of rain on Friday night/Saturday morning. Despite that, we’ll be letting carts out on the golf course today (Sunday) beginning at noon. 18-holes with a cart, $25. Or 9-holes with a cart is $20.
The new Thursday Morning Women’s League will be officially starting on Thursday, July 10th. We’ll get things going at 8:30 a.m., and will have snacks and an organizational meeting following the golf. This is fun league, and everyone is invited, no matter what your current playing ability is. For non-member’s, the price is $10 for the golf.
